Head Coaches:
Joey Woody:
- Current Director/Head Coach of Men's & Women's Track & Field at the University of Iowa.
- Founder and coach of Iowa Speed Track & Field Club.
- Passion for training athletes to love the sport of track and field and being their best.
- Former Division 1 athlete at the University of Northern Iowa specializing in the 400m hurdles, 800m and relays. Earned Numerous All-American Honors and is a Division 1 National Champion in the 400m hurdles.
- 2003 World Champion in the 4x400m relay and Silver Medalist in the 400m hurdles, World Championships, Paris, France. Former World Record Holder in the 4x800m plus numerous other honors and placings around the world.
- Father of Iowa Speed Athletes Drake and Isabelle
Heather Woody:
- Current Chief of Motivation and Track Coach for Iowa Speed Track & Field.
- 2017 National Youth Sports Coach of the Year - Positive Coaching Alliance & AAU
- Passion for bringing out the best in others on and off the track.
- Former Division III Indoor and Outdoor All-American in the 4x400m for Simpson College and Division 1 athlete at the University of Northern Iowa. Held the role of Team Captain and earned MVC Honors in the 400m, 600m and relays.
- President and Professional Business Coach for Heather Woody Unlimited, Inc.
- Mother of Iowa Speed Athletes Drake and Isabelle.
